Julia Horton

M.A. Student

Julia is a second-year M.A. student who graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Spring 2021 with a B.A. in Spanish. She has also received a certification in TESOL and began her work translating poetry from Spanish to English as an undergraduate. Julia was a FLAS Fellow for the 2021-2022 Academic Year and studied Quechua as a third language. Her current research in cross-cultural pragmatics focuses on English-Spanish translation of pragmatic meaning in TV sitcom subtitles.

  • TESOL Certification obtained through Saint Louis University Madrid
