Working Papers, Vol. 7 (2024)

UGA Working Papers in Linguistics is an online, peer-reviewed journal published in annual issues and special volumes. Our goal is to be a venue for high-quality scholarly work in the field of linguistics, drawing readership from within and outside UGA. Originally intended as an outlet for UGA students and faculty to publish their work, we currently welcome submissions from all over the world.

Call for Papers

For this edition, we welcome submissions from all relevant disciplinary backgrounds approaching topics in Linguistics, including but not limited to:

Morphology
Phonetics
Phonology
Syntax
Semantics
Pragmatics
Discourse Analysis
Language Documentation
Sociolinguistics
Historical Linguistics
Language Acquisition
Text/Corpus Linguistics
Psycholinguistics
Neurolinguistics

**If you are interested in submitting material on TESOL or World Language Education, please contact us beforehand. We will assess whether your manuscript is a good fit within our scope.

Submissions are open until October 10th, 2023. The language of submission and publication is English. Submissions should adhere to these style guidelines and should ideally be between 10 and 15 pages of double-spaced body text. Accepted manuscripts will be published on Atheneum and on our institutional page.

Authors must be pursuing or have completed a graduate degree (Master’s, Doctoral or other). Undergraduate students are welcome to submit manuscripts as long as at least one of their co-authors is a graduate student or holds a graduate degree.
