Introduction to Cognitive Science

Interdisciplinary study of mind and intelligent activity that forms cognitive sciences. Contributions of psychology, philosophy, linguistics, biology, anthropology, computer science, and education toward uncovering important aspects of the mind and intelligent activity are discussed. This course is cross-listed with ARTI, PHIL, and PSYC.

Not open to students with credit in ARTI 3550E, LING 3550E, PSYC 3550E, PHIL 3550E, ARTI 3550H, LING 3550H, PSYC 3550H, PHIL 3550H

PSYC 1030H or PSYC 1101 or PSYC 1101E or PHIL 2010 or PHIL 2010H or PHIL 2010E

The call for applications for the Spark Undergraduate Research Award in Linguistics has been extended through April 1!

Thanks to a generous endowment created by Michael H. and Nancy E. Scarbrough, the Department of Linguistics is able to offer funding to support undergraduate research projects.There are two categories of awards, which are described below.

Shannon Rodriguez presents "Studying the Impact of Languge on Identity" at UGA's Three Minute Thesis Competition

In January, Shannon Rodriguez presented her Three Minute Thesis presentation to the board of regents. Rodriguez was a runner up for UGA’s Three Minute Thesis Competition.
