Dr. Margaret Renwick has had a paper published in Language and Speech. It’s titled "A Survey of Phonological Mid Vowel Intuitions in Central Catalan" and it’s co-authored with Marianna Nadeu.

The 4th annual Linguistics Conference at UGA took place October 6-7 at the Miller Learning Center. The conference program featured over 30 presenters from colleges and universities in Alabama, Arizona, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin, Canada, and Brazil. Plenary events included talks by Dr. Susan Tamasi of Emory University and Dr.

Dr. Keith Langston presented a paper "Corpus planning and corpus data: Language advice and actual usage in Croatian" at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Slavic Linguistics Society, September 21-24 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. 

Dr. Chamorro spent time this summer collecting data to investigate temporal reference in Tenetehára. She found that the language has a ‘graded past tense system’ with three degrees of remoteness and an evidentiality system that conflates temporal and source of reported information. An analysis of the collected data is ongoing.
