Assistant Professor of Linguistics Professor, Dr. Pilar Chamorro, taught a course titled: "Linguistic Fieldwork and Amazonian Languages" at University of Santiago de Compostela May 20 - 21, 2019.

Linguistics Ph.D. Candidate, Rachel Olsen, presented "It's All in How You Say It: The Prosody of Emotion" in the 2019 3MT™ Competition April 10th, 2019.

The event is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland.

Master’s and doctoral students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis or dissertation topic and its significance. The competition’s rules allow for only a single, static PowerPoint slide. No additional electronic media nor props are permitted.

Linguistics graduate student, Kyle Vanderniet, will present a talk about his work at Emory University May 20th, at 3pm in Modern Languages, Room 201.

Linguistics PhD Student, Dot-Eum (Rachel) Kim, will be presenting: "Korean American English in the South: Language, Culture, and the Making of a New Dialect."

Linguistics faculty and former Director of the Program, Dr. Jared Klein will be presenting "Proto-Indo-European *nu as a Discourse Particle."

Linguistics PhD student, Jonathan Crum, will be presenting "The syntax/semantics of number and optional classifiers."
